Neck Liposuction in Pasadena and Beverly Hills Los Angeles at Beauty by Dr. Kay

Dr. Kay’s many years of ENT and surgical experience have aptly prepared her to perform this procedure, as she is an expert on the anatomy of the neck and lower face. Please be aware that this is an advanced procedure, as the neck contains important blood vessels, so please do not see an inexperienced injector for this. Come see Dr. Kay instead! Her patient satisfaction and beautiful results are reflected in her high reviews and real patient outcomes, illustrating why she is one of the top choices for neck liposuction in the Los Angeles area.

What is Neck Liposuction?

Liposuction surgery involves anesthesia of the submental (neck) area. The fat is loosened using controlled back and forth motions with a needle, then the fat is removed through a vacuum.

The dramatic reduction in neck fat and fullness that results from this procedure is what makes it so appealing. The surgery itself lasts about 30 minutes and produces instantaneous results with about 3 days of downtime. When performed by an experienced and certified surgeon, this is a safe procedure with minimal risk of serious complications.

Neck liposuction is a quick and painless procedure, as anesthesia is used to eliminate pain. However, you will experience soreness during the recovery. A small incision is made, and a needle is used to break up the excess fat, before suctioning it out. Before beginning the injection, you will have photos taken in order to help you track your results and identify areas of concern.

Am I a good candidate?

Generally, if you are a healthy non-smoker with a Body Mass Index of 30 or less, you are a fit candidate. Good candidates should also have good skin elasticity, as the skin must be able to snap back once excess fat is removed. Patients with low skin elasticity will display skin laxity, or sagging after liposuction.

Is Neck Liposuction safe?

Neck Lipo is a safe procedure with minimal risk of complications when administered by an experienced and qualified plastic or dermatological surgeon. However, due to the extensive vasculature of this area, complications are possible and finding an experienced injector is key. Dr. Kay’s many years of surgery and ENT experience have aptly prepared her to perform this procedure, as her outstanding understanding of the anatomy of the neck will give you confidence in achieving beautiful, safe results.

Downtime, results, and follow-ups

Generally, patients won’t have to take more than 3 days off after liposuction surgery. Immediate results will be hidden by swelling, however you can expect final results after 2 weeks when the swelling has diminished. As long as you preserve your post-lipo weight, the duration of these results should last for years. However, it is important to understand that these results can decline if you gain weight.

How should I prepare for Neck Lipo?

Before coming in to receive your treatment, you should follow these pre-procedure instructions to minimize the risks of adverse reactions:

  • Avoid alcohol, as it may increase your risk of bruising
  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood-thinning medications 2 weeks in advance if possible, as these can increase your risk of swelling and bruising (Aspirin, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, and other NSAIDs).
  • Avoid smoking
  • Try to schedule appointment two weeks before special events, as swelling can take up to two weeks to resolve.
  • Stay hydrated and eat well before your appointment.

What should I do after receiving Neck Lipo?

It is important to follow these post-treatment instructions in order to maximize the results and avoid complications:

  • Ice area every 2 hours for 30 min at a time. 2 – 3 times a day for the first 3 days.
  • Light aerobic exercises only for the first two days post-treatment.
  • Avoid saunas — minimal sweating recommended.
  • Gently massage any visual lumps or nodules daily for a week.
  • Avoid salty foods and alcohol during first two weeks post-treatment.
